Dr. Perry experienced desegregation in the southern United States as a child, and those uncomfortable lessons served her as she entered and advanced in veterinary medicine—the least diverse field of healthcare. Dr. Perry shares some of what she’s learned about working to make our profession reflect the diverse public it serves, listening to the next generation, and not running from discomfort.
