I lay my hand over my mouth.” Job‬ ‭42‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You. Therefore I abhor myself, And repent in dust and ashes.” ‭‭ Isaiah‬ ‭6‬:‭1‬-‭8‬ ‭NIV‬ “In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke. “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! Send me!” Isaiah‬ ‭64‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.” Luke 5:8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. Romans‬ ‭7‬:‭24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?” Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭1‬ ‭NKJV‬ “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” There can be no self-exaltation, no boastful claim to freedom from sin, on the part of those who walk in the shadow of Calvary’s cross. They feel that it was their sin which caused the agony that broke the heart of the Son of God, and this thought will lead them to self-abasement. Those who live nearest to Jesus discern most clearly the frailty and sinfulness of humanity, and their only hope is in the merit of a crucified and risen Saviour. – {Great Controversy p. 471.2} 2 Corinthians‬ ‭8‬:‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬ “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.” John‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬ ‭NIV‬ “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
