Befriending Your Mind: The Secret to Inner Peace

Befriending Your Mind: The Secret to Inner Peace

Episode 84 Published 3 years, 6 months ago
Description

Why does your mind do things you did not ask it to? Because three separate minds get the information before you do.

The instinctual mind checks whether you are about to die. The subconscious stores everything from birth in vivid detail and asks what happened last time, and if it did not kill you, it does it again. That is where every habit you have comes from. Only then does the human mind get a say, and often the decision is already made. None of them are your enemy. They are just not looking after you for the reasons you assume. Also, you are living about a tenth of a second behind reality. All of us are.

One thing to try: Next time you are angry, say it out loud. I am feeling angry, and my mind wants to do that. Then watch what happens.
