MAESTRO FILIPINO 22 0806 | A French-ship Concert, Pt. 1

Episode 59 Published 3 years, 10 months ago
Description

Celebrating 75 years of Philippine-French ties, conductor Michaël Cousteau led the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra in A French-ship Concert, highlighting a triumvirate of French musical giants: Camille Saint-Saëns, Claude Debussy, and Maurice Ravel. That was not the only cause for celebration, as the concert saw the PPO return to the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. On MAESTRO FILIPINO, we spend time with Cousteau and Martin Macalintal, audiovisual attaché of the French Embassy, to talk history—of both the French-ship concert, and of the decades of friendship and cultural exchange between France and the Philippines. DZFE’s Daniel is the host.

MAESTRO FILIPINO is DZFE's program on the Philippine classical music scene.

All music on the program features with permission from the artists.
