Until entering university, Franz Mallari was a self-taught composer who wrote decidedly pop music. Last November, he won the solo piano category of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts’ Composition Prize. Joining DZFE’s Daniel, Mallari shares his story and music as MAESTRO FILIPINO continues its feature on the winners of the NCCA Composition Prize.
