Growth potential of turfgrass, the link to actual growth, and a further connection to N fertilizer with Bjarni Hannesson

Episode 74 Published 3 years, 3 months ago
Description

Bjarni Hannesson has been using the temperature-based turfgrass growth potential (GP) for ten years. We discussed how he makes use of it in Iceland, and how the GP can be used to predict when and how much N fertilizer may be required to produce the desired growth rate.

We discussed this blog post, to begin with: https://www.asianturfgrass.com/post/which-more-effect-growth-light-or-temperature/
We also discussed the link to download slides and a handout from my 2013 presentation about GP and its link to N rate through probable growth: https://www.asianturfgrass.com/post/method-for-estimating-turfgrass-nutrient-requirements-iceland-report/
For photos of turfgrass and golf courses in Iceland, I've put a photo gallery here: https://www.asianturfgrass.com/post/turfgrass-in-iceland/
