In the special features (Tales From the Edge of Darkness), creator Eric Kripke and executive producer McG share how Supernatural began: a lifelong love of urban legend books, influences like Evil Dead and Poltergeist, and a studio that loved the urban legends but not his original idea. We learn that Jensen Ackles originally auditioned for Sam, and once they saw Jared Padalecki, the Han Solo and Luke Skywalker dynamic clicked. And the Impala? Kripke was picturing a '65 Mustang until his car-loving neighbor pointed out you could fit a body in the trunk of a '67 Chevy. Sold.

For favorite episodes overall, LA can't choose between Nightmare and Something Wicked (young Dean!), and Berly's number one is Hell House and Devil's Trap. Least favorite? LA would like a word about Bugs.
