Georgia police officer Jacob Kersey resigned from his position after being suspended for having posted a message to Facebook about his biblical stance on marriage. Kersey explained his response: “My integrity and Christian beliefs are at the core of who I am, and I will not abandon them.” His example is the opposite of what some Christians may do in succumbing to cultural pressure to privatize our faith, treating Jesus as a means to our ends—a temptation that is more subtle and attractive than we may think.
