Supernatural Season 1, Episode 22, Devil's Trap recap 😈 It's the season one finale, and it picks up right where Salvation left off: Meg has Dad, the boys need help, and we finally meet BOBBY SINGER (Jim Beaver) on Denim-wrapped Nightmares, a Supernatural rewatch podcast.

Meg (Nicki Aycox) is taunting the boys with John's phone, so they head to Bobby's junkyard, where he greets them with two flasks: one holy water, one whiskey. Instant family. Bobby shows Sam the devil's trap, a symbol that can trap a demon, and it's the start of a beautiful, demon-hunting friendship. (Fun fact: the town in Jennifer's Body is called Devil's Kettle, not Devil's Trap, but it's close enough for us, and if you haven't seen the movie, you should.) Then Meg comes kicking down doors, and things get VERY intense.

Episode Highlights:

• Bobby's two flasks, the most Bobby introduction possible
• Bobby's guard dog (we've decided he's living happily ever after with a new family)
• Meg's big exorcism, and the heartbreaking truth about the woman she's been possessing
• The boys splashing holy water on Dad's SHIRT (put it on his face, guys!)

• Dad being a little too nice. Way too nice. Hmm.
• The tensest scene of the whole season
• A cliffhanger that had us yelling at the screen

In the lore segment, we dig into real-life exorcisms: Anneliese Michel, whose 1976 case in Germany inspired The Exorcism of Emily Rose; Anna Ecklund, whose 1928 exorcism in Earling, Iowa, became the pamphlet Begone Satan; Roland Doe, the real boy behind The Exorcist; and the demonic haunting of the Smurl family in West Pittston, Pennsylvania, investigated by Ed and Lorraine Warren (which inspired The Conjuring 2).

Fireman: "We're figuring that out right now. Stay back."
Dean: "Well, I've got a Yorkie upstairs, and he pees when he gets nervous."
