Deep Gratitude – If the Kettle Had Feelings!
Description
What would your kettle say about you if it had feelings? That is not a joke. That is where deep gratitude starts.
I did not want to record this one. You get up, you put the kettle on, it clicks, it boils, you pour the coffee and you sit down, and not one part of that got a moment's notice. Go deeper. The person who made it. The people who mined the metal. Do the same with the shirt you have on, the cotton, the field, the till it was sold at. That is when it stops being a gratitude list and starts being genuinely overwhelming. And the Buddha put gratitude on the path itself, not beside it.
One thing to try: Pick one ordinary object today and follow it all the way back. Stop when you feel it.
