WOT 127: Philosophy, Dubious Advice, and the Bear River Watershed with Chadd VanZanten

Published 3 years, 7 months ago
Description

In this episode we Wadeoutthere with Chadd VanZanten from Northern Utah.  Chad was introduced to fishing at a very early age and was raised in a family where he was, in his words, “given to know that fishing was the finest thing.”

Chadd embraced fly fishing as he began to raise his own family surrounded by trout streams in the Rocky Mountains.  He has combined his passion for writing with his love of fly fishing, resulting in several books, including “On Fly Fishing the Northern Rockies: Essays and Dubious Advice” which we discuss throughout the conversation, and which he co-authored with his fishing buddy Russ Beck.

We discuss fishing buddies, some philosophy on fly fishing and counting fish, and the Bear River Watershed.

You can find a copy of one of Chadd's books on fly fishing here:
On Fly Fishing the Northern Rockies: Essays and Dubious Advice.
On Fly Fishing the Wind River Range: Essays and What Not to Bring
On Fly Fishing the Bear River Watershed: Essays and Exceptional Misadventures
