He recently moved from Osaka, Japan, to Boone, North Carolina for an Appalachian Studies program at Appalachian State. We talk about what led him to do so, as well as the thriving Bluegrass and Old Time scene in Japan. Also, Dave Wood, the academic program director of Shohei’s program, joins us on guitar.
