What is more important the diameter of your tire or the amount of articulation you have in your suspension? If you have larger tires you might not need as much suspension because those massive tires will catch before smaller ones will. However, if you have an obscene amount of suspension travel then you might be able to get away with smaller tires as your suspension can get your tires to connect anywhere.
