Episode Details

On episode 145 of the Press Rewind – Prince Lyrics Podcast, I travel back to July 1979, Boulder, Colorado, to talk about the pseudo-side band project, The Rebels. Prince and his new touring band take time away from Minneapolis to write and record new music that never saw the light of day. I focus the episode on four Prince-penned tracks, “Hard to Get,” “If I Love You Tonight,” “The Loser,” and “You.”

The goal of each episode of Press Rewind is to:

• Take a track by track look at the lyrical content of Prince’s discography
• Discuss my own interpretation of each song’s lyrics along with any guest I may have
• If submitted, discuss listener’s interpretations of each song’s lyrics

Thank you for joining me on this journey through Prince’s catalog!
