Dr. Jenn Reiner-Marcello on the Intersection between Movement and Sports Science in Baseball

Published 3 years, 6 months ago
Description

Dr. Jennifer Reiner-Marcello has 20 years of experience in the sports performance industry ranging from the private setting, college, and professional teams.

Over the last 7 years, she has focused her efforts in baseball including rehabilitation for the San Diego Padres and reconditioning for the Minnesota Twins.

While at the Twins, she created and deployed the reconditioning program including establishing, developing, and executing a systematic approach for coordinating motion-capture data, force-place mound information, video breakdown, strength and conditioning assessments, orthopedic evaluations, movement assessments, and hitting and pitching coaches’ assessments to reduce injury, improve skill, and drive performance.

Now I realize that’s a mouthful, but I promise we’re going to take all that and make it incredibly practical as we try to find the intersection between assessments, movement and sports science in baseball.

When you can piece all of those parts together, of what their strategy is and you see it play out in all these different scenarios, it allows you to narrow your intervention so that you’re much more targeted and can maybe get what you want to achieve on the first try. – Jenn Reiner-Marcello
