Today on Integrative Cancer Solutions we are doing things a little different.  Instead of going into details of an incredible cancer surviving story, which on of our guests have, we get discuss a great resource and power duo that are trying to turn the normal negative cancer conversations into something positive.

Lauren Nelson and Joni Carlson are a mother and daughter team living the Kissed by Cancer mission. After Joni (mother), was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer, we were shocked and scared. We so badly wanted to do treatment and go back to living life as it was before, but we realized that was not what this experience was about to teach us.

Lauren and Joni lead a community guided by an optimistic perspective that a diagnosis is a new relationship with life. One that is finding joy in renewed relationships, love, and a refreshed lease on life to honor the body, mind and spirit. Knowing that you, they, them are never going through this alone.

Everything around cancer is rightfully negative and overwhelming. However, Lauren and Joni knew to face this they had to change everything from their mindset to nutrition, stress, and everything in between.

This doesn’t mean that they danced around the pain or ignored the existence of Joni’s cancer, it meant that they decided to start embracing living life, in this moment. They took back their power, looking at this journey as it is happening "for us, not to us." No one is promised tomorrow. Today, and everyday, is a special occasion to treat our body and spirit right. Cancer is a terrible and devastating disease, but like attracts like. 

People need to choose to look at it as a way to love ourselves and others, because love always wins.
