Joining Mitch this episode, Jed Morgan, volunteer at the White Heart Foundation and leading their Guardian Project helping out veterans with PTSD and other mental health issues. The lads get into Jed’s Marine Corps career from why he decided to sign up, how he ended up Infantry over going the MP route, why the Marines, Mitch shares getting messed with for showing up to his first unit in Italy with a ‘Combat Jump’ patch on his uniform mistakenly, Jed’s first and second deployment experiences and what getting shot at for the first time feels like. Jed and Mitch also reflect on Afghanistan from the mission of appealing to ‘hearts and minds’ to the fallout of Taliban knowing which Afghan’s collaborated with Western forces, what ‘the cost of war’ really means when children are in war zones, Jed’s experience losing his legs to an IED blast while on patrol, his mental process through surgeries, recovery and rehabilitation, what lead him to the White Heart foundation and his work there and much more!
