Dr. Tricia (Trish) Williams is here to chat with me about transdiagnostic neonatal neuropsychology. What does that mean, exactly? Well, Dr. Williams specializes in assessment, consultation, and intervention with kids who’ve experienced neonatal injuries like hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, neonatal stroke, or preterm birth. As a parent of a child who experienced HIE and participated in therapeutic hypothermia, I had a very personal interest in this material! Here are just a few things that we talk about during this episode:

About Dr. Tricia Williams

Dr. Williams is a board-certified Clinical Neuropsychologist and Paediatric Subspecialist through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).
As a Health Clinician-Scientist at the Hospital for Sick Children and Director of the NeuroOutcomes lab, Williams’ research focuses on neuropsychological outcomes following early brain injury and the importance of supporting the family in optimizing resilience.
Clinically, she leads the Neonatal Neuropsychological services for assessment and consultation for children and families following neonatal brain injury and associated medical conditions. She also has a small private practice in the Greater Toronto Area.
