Penn State athletics is moving into the future, searching for a new athletic director. That, and several other topics are the subject of the BWI Daily Edition today. Host Thomas Frank Carr and Senior Editor Nate Bauer, also take questions from the audience during their weekly mailbag segment on the show.

They start with Barbour's announcement that she will be stepping down this summer and retiring. Bauer starts the conversation off by looking at the position she's vacating rather than the person. What should that position be in the future? Bauer and T-Frank give their thoughts. Next, T-Frank asks Nate to share his impressions of Barbour's tenure at Penn State. Finally, they discuss what comes next and where the university should look for its next athletic department leader.

After that, they review former Penn State receiver Chris Godwin's contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Godwin signed a three-year, 60 million dollar extension earlier this week, and T-Frank gives his thoughts on the deal and how Godwin can come back from an ACL injury.

Next, Bauer gives his thoughts on Sam Sessoms entering the transfer portal. Is this a good thing for both parties? Also, how should Penn State conduct itself in the portal? Next, Bauer breaks down what is ahead for the Nittany Lions basketball program. Finally, T-Frank asks a question that many fans might want to know but don't want to hear. How long until Penn State looks and acts like the program that head coach Micah Shrewsberry wants it to be instead of one that is just getting by?

Finally, they dip into the mailbag for questions!

The first question deals with former cornerbacks Keaton Ellis and Marquis Wilson. A BWI message board member wants to know what happened to them after promising starts ot their careers. T-Frank and Bauer discuss what happened to them and what their roles might be this upcoming season.
