Penn State football is searching for linebackers with a thin roster for the 2022 season. But behind the scenes, four-star linebacker Abdul Carter is preparing to make an impact. The freshman-to-be sat down with host Thomas Frank Carr on the BWI Daily to talk about his game and preparation for the future. 

The senior from La Salle College high school is the 128th player in the nation, according to On3, and was a force his senior season. So that's where T-Frank begins the interview, asking Carter about how he thinks his final year of high school football turned out. 

From there, he turns his attention to the current Nittany Lions and asks Carter, who recently visited Penn State, what he thought of new defensive coordinator Manny Diaz. Carter gives a favorable impression of Diaz as a person and a coach. Next, T-Frank asks what sort of conversations Diaz and Carter have had, leading to Carter's thoughts about football and playing at Penn State. 

That becomes a theme of the day for Carter. 

After that, T-Frank dives into a conversation about Carter's game and what he saw on film from the Philadelphia-area native. Next, T-Frank explains to Carter how hard he thinks it is to play linebacker in modern football thanks to recent offensive innovations aimed at confusing linebackers. After that, he gives his opinion on just how good Carter was his senior year and asks what caused the lightbulb to come on for the promising junior his final year. 

Carter takes T-Frank through his football journey and explains what led to a breakout senior season and why he's such a versatile player on the field. Next, they discuss what sort of linebacker Carter is and what he wants to be. So how important is communication to Carter? What sort of skills is he developing to enhance his game? 

All of those conversations lead to Carter's intense love of football film. He explains that he watches all sorts of players in the NFL and tries to take the best parts of each of their games to make himself better. Who does he mention? Check out the interview so find out.
