The main attachment styles that I discussed in my Attachment Styles overview podcast (https://anchor.fm/drpsychmomshow/episodes/Attachment-Theory-Overview-Secure--Preoccupied--and-Avoidant-e1ieate) did not include fearful-avoidant, which is called disorganized in kids. This happens to kids who grow up in abusive homes and is a consequence of early trauma and not trusting a caregiver to meet even your basic needs for safety. In this episode, I discuss this lesser known attachment style and what to do about it!
