Hello! Welcome back to Lexx Education, the science podcast where comedian Laura Lexx tries to learn science from her nerdy little brother Ron. This week the Somerset siblings are actually in the same room for the intro and outro of the podcast, and thanks to a little gift from a listener, they have a LOT OF FUN. Also featuring a live studio audience by way of girlfriend of the podcast Judith, and husband of the podcast Tom.

In the chemistry lesson portion of the episode, Laura is recovering from her ultra marathon and also in Oslo for the week, so her brain is a little bit melty. Ron edited this one so there is a STARTLING lack of sound effects. Do you miss them?

Laura and Ron have a bit of a falling out about how to learn and when to question this week. Does Ron want Laura to ask questions and understand or just nod along? Is Laura capable of either regardless of what Ron wants?

Ron gets too hot, then it rains, and Laura retains almost nothing from beginning to end of the episode. However, we do cover The Halogens, metals and non-metals, the noble gases and some chemical reaction equations. It’s just that it doesn’t stick with Laura for a single second.
